THIS IS OUTDATE AND NO LONGER USERS, PLEASE REFER TO VICTORVILLE SWITCHING DISTRICT FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION.
The Victorville Local originates in Victorville at the cement plant yard. The job is a bit more complex than a typical switching run because it involves tagging & loading cars first. To know what cars to tag you need to take a look at the BAR SD tab on the registry. Normally admins do all the tagging however because this is a cement plant we wanted to include the actual loading process. Though loading probably is done many hours before, for the time being we are having the Victorville Turn do this starting at 0500. Below is an example of the sheet you need to look at. In this example you see 4 tags for a total of 38 loads required.
From there you simply take the total number of empties required to load from the yard. Back the entire string over the loader slowly and add the total number of tags requested. In this example you would load 24 cars for TPL first then 1 SDG, 1 LUB, and 12 PHX. The numbers change every cycle depending on random factors from the waybills. As you tag each car over the loader hit the fully load button. To make tagging easier you can actually copy and paste directly from the tag cell into the actual car using CTRL C and CTRL V.
Once you have all the loads complete you can then head to Barstow. Cars will be waiting for you in the receiving yard for the return trip. Drop your entire train on an available receiving track nearby. You can then take all the empties back to Victorville.
Once at Victorville simply yard the train on available empty tracks and park the engines where you got them from at the star of the trip.
